A Fall Chill Is On The Way

You really can’t complain much about September…lots of sun and pleasant temperatures. Well, as October arrives on Wednesday, a fall chill will be arriving as well. A push of cool Canadian air will arrive right as the calendar changes. Daytime highs as we head into midweek will drop to the upper 50s and lower 60s. That’s about 10 degrees or so colder than what we experienced this past week. In addition, to make it appear even more like fall, the cold air will interact with the warmer waters of Lake Erie and trigger lots of clouds and some lake enhanced rain showers. Sounds like sweater weather is on the way.

Enjoy!

Power outage!

Due to the storm, we’ve suffered a few problems and equipment issues in the past 24 hours. Our generator kept us on the air, but we’ll be working to recover from other trouble over the next few days. At the moment our live studio webcam is down, and we’re working to repair some transmitter equipment. We’ll be back to 100% very soon, but stay tuned for updates. Sorry for any inconvenience!

Cooler this week

After a very warm week last week, this one is shaping up to be a bit more normal. Our normal daytime high for this time of September is in the mid 70s. Temps will actually be a bit below that through midweek, then we will return to near normal as we head into the weekend. Showers will be off and on this week, generally late Monday and early Tuesday then again toward the end of the week. Bottom line…no major weather events this week.

Enjoy!

Very warm to start the week..then cooler

Our normal high temperatures for the early part of the September should be in the mid 70s. (77 degrees is normal on September 1st.) The first part of this first week of September will see daytime highs about ten degrees above that…in the mid 80s. That will change later in the week when Thursday and Friday we dip back to normal. Our extended weather charts show that daytime highs should remain near normal through next weekend, then even cooler air will arrive (around September 9).

Where’s the rain from T.S. Fay?

It’s been a week since Tropical Storm Fay slid into Florida and still the moisture from Fay remains well to our south. A blocking HIGH is keeping the moisture from moving northward. (see graphic) Our best guess at this time is that it will be the end of the week, maybe even later, before the rain moves up.
